Accessibility

ClassicTunes is made by one independent developer, and it's meant for everyone who loves their iPod. This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. If something gets in your way, please tell us (see below) and we'll fix it.
Settings on this website
Choose the Accessibility button at the top right of any page (the figure in a circle) to change:
- Text size: Default, Larger or Largest. Everything on the page grows with it. Your browser's own zoom (⌘ and + on a Mac, or pinching on a phone) works too.
- Contrast: Increased gives darker text, stronger colors, solid backgrounds and clearer outlines. Auto follows your device's own setting, such as Increase contrast on a Mac, iPhone or iPad.
- Motion: Reduced turns off animations. Auto follows your device's Reduce motion setting.
- Links: Underlined makes every link stand out from the text around it.
The Appearance button beside it chooses Light, Dark or Auto, which follows your device. Your choices are remembered in your browser, on your device only (see Privacy).
How the website is built
- Every page works with a keyboard alone: Tab shows a clear outline on where you are, and the first Tab offers Skip to content.
- Pages use proper headings, landmarks and labels, so screen readers such as VoiceOver can move around them. Documentation search results are announced as you type.
- Text and controls meet WCAG AA contrast in both light and dark, and the site respects your device's dark mode, increased contrast, reduced motion and reduced transparency settings.
- Screenshots of the app have text descriptions, and the documentation describes each step in words as well.
- The whole site is also available as plain text, for AI assistants and other tools that read it to you (llms.txt).
The ClassicTunes app
ClassicTunes is built with Apple's standard controls, which support VoiceOver, Full Keyboard Access and macOS's display settings, including Increase Contrast, Reduce Transparency, Reduce Motion and dark mode, and most commands have keyboard shortcuts. Most of what it does can also be done with AppleScript or Shortcuts, including Siri. See the keyboard shortcuts, AppleScript and Shortcuts.
Known limitations
- The checkout window used for buying is run by Paddle, our payment provider. If it gives you trouble, email us and we'll help you buy another way.
- Some screenshots show small text from the app; their descriptions and the text around them say what they show.
Tell us about a problem
